Duties:
- Organize, develop, and manage a team of educators for the purpose of providing a comprehensive outpatient diabetes education program. This team would consist of CDEs, Registered Dietitians, and other personal.
- Organize the education curriculum, education materials, and scheduling for a multi-centered outpatient diabetes educational services.
- Educate the staff as well as the clients about diabetes, the disease and treatment.
- Have knowledge of ADA diabetes education recognition criteria and the application process for recognition. Applicant is expected to obtain and maintain such recognition.
- Continual research and concern with all new developments in the fields of diabetic care and diabetic supplies. Stay abreast of changing laws and regulations.
- Assess any new needs for the business and the clients and work to fulfill these.
- Facilitate growth of program and staff.
- Constant effort to improve the efficiency and protocols in order to benefit the clients as well as the business.
- Assist each and every client to improve their own self care of diabetes, explore new methods to improve overall diabetic health.
- Collaborate with both client populations as well as the medical health care community.
- Represent the business in the Metro Area in order to bring in new clients and contacts, become part of the local community and local events.
- Support local physicians with needs and contacts, giving frequent feedback and follow-up, and finding new ways to improve the communication and relationship.
- Be comforting and dynamic in order to help clients learn and retain information and reach their own personal goals.
- Be willing to assist in the marketing a multi-centered outpatient diabetes educational center.
- Be willing to travel locally in the Greater St. Louis area.
Requirements:
- Current active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Missouri
- Certified Diabetes Educator
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CDE
